How did I become a Jett Girl?

Hell if I know, one moment I’m working at the premiere spot for creepy men and sloppy drunks and the next, I’m being whisked away by a moody ex-boxer and a mysterious man in a suit that overlooks his girls from the third floor of the Lafayette Club.

It wasn’t easy but now that I’m a Jett Girl, there is only one thing on my mind and that is Jett Colby.

He has captured me, stolen my heart and entwined my soul into his at such an alarming rate that it seems almost difficult to breathe without him holding me, touching me, kissing me...

He won’t give me his heart though, he won’t let me own every last inch of him and not because he doesn’t want to, but because he doesn’t want to jeopardize my ambiguity.

Because of this, there is only one thing standing in my way when it comes to completely and utterly living my life with Jett Colby and it’s called Lot 17.

Goldie and Jett's story picks up from where it left off in book 1. Being Jett Girl is much more about their relationship and less about Goldie actually being a Jett Girl. Threats from Jett's father and the struggle to obtain Lot 17 have a huge impact on events.

Jett continues to struggle to meet Goldie's expectations for a relationship. Jett annoyed me a little in this story. He is supposed to be one of the top businessmen in the city and a Dom but his behaviour towards Goldie when they are not having sex is more like that of a 15 year old. He is completely clueless. The first few times he mucks up were entertaining but it got a little tired toward the middle of the book. Goldie was great though because she doesn't take his crap.

Kace continues to play an important role in the story and I'm hoping he will be given his own book. I'd love to get inside his head.

The ending of Being a Jett Girl was not what I expected at all and the author has set up perfectly for an exciting third book.

This is the second in the series, and I would suggest that you definitely need to have read book one to get full enjoyment from the story. Goldie has now been made up to a Jett girl and much to Jett's dismay enjoys working with the other girls even more now. He shows himself to be somewhat in her thrall, even though he tries to deny it. As his business dealings get ever more complex, things get serious, and these two have to really develop some trust. The story has taken on a more dramatic hue, but still the zany humour shines on in this installment.

Cannot say that will be the case in book 3 – which I hope Ms. Quinn is busy getting ready to release, as I am in need of the next fix of Jett, Goldie and (if I'm honest, especially ...) Kace !

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Yep, that was pretty much my reaction when I got to the end of Being a Jett Girl and for so many reasons (and I won’t even tell you what those reasons are because most of them are spoilers). But I’m getting ahead of myself here. Goldie is back as a full-fledged Jett Girl and she’s just as sassy and mouthy as she was in Becoming a Jett Girl. I thought the opening scene was hilarious and Goldie wasn’t the only one left wondering if she’d peed herself. What a way to start off a book.

I really liked that Ms. Quinn has kept Goldie’s character consistent from book one to book two. The woman has a unique way with words and the stuff that comes out of her mouth had me laughing out loud multiple times … “bitch-a-corns” anyone? And it is Goldie’s unpredictable mouth that keeps Jett on his toes, constantly breaking through his cool exterior. She gave him no choice but to fall for her and Jett finally admits it to himself in Being a Jett Girl. If it can be believed, the sex is even hotter this time around. It’s a good thing my Kindle is magenta, otherwise its blushing would have been very noticeable. But of course, all is NOT smooth sailing for this couple as Jett is still dealing with his father and the Lot 17 bid.

As new characters are introduced, the danger increases, and the plot thickens, I found myself devouring Being a Jett Girl in one sitting – a very long sitting, but a single sitting none the less. I just have to say that I loved how Diego’s flirty banter kept rendering Goldie speechless – she’s getting a glimpse into how she often leaves Jett feeling during a conversation, whether she knows it or not. Ms. Quinn has continued to bring her “A” game to this series and I cannot wait to see what happens next. I can only hope that she is writing furiously because I am dying to read the smack down that Goldie gives Keylee because I just know that’s coming. As Jett says “You could take the girl off Bourbon Street but you can’t take the Bourbon Street out of the girl.”

Well, I’m in the business of saving tarnished souls. I hand pick girls from the street who have no options left in life and give them an opportunity they can’t possibly refuse.

They come to work in the Lafayette Club which is full of EXQUISITE DEBAUCHERY, where influential men come to conduct business and lap dances are considered a fine art.

The girls are trained, they are morphed, they are educated, they follow the rules of the club and they know to submit to me. They live by my motto, no relationships, no love, just sex.

They are never touched, only by me, they are never completely naked, only with me, and their personas are entirely anonymous. The only person who knows who they truly are, is me, Jett Colby.

The story of how Goldie becomes a “Jett Girl” is a perfectly paced read. The author takes the time to let us get to know Goldie and to a lesser degree, Jett, before the offer is made for Goldie to join the Lafayette Club, a high end gentlemen's establishment.

We follow Goldie as she struggles to take care of herself and to fit in with life as a trainee Jett Girl. She was a fun character to read. She is sassy, full of funny lines from her big mouth and is eager to please but also defiant at times.

I started out not liking our male lead Jett. I wasn't sure he was what he appeared to be but by the end of the story I was in love with the enigmatic, sex god. The story is dual point of view so that probably helped sway me.

This book is sexy, emotional, funny and a little unconventional. I devoured Becoming a Jett Girl in one day and had a great time reading it. I've already started on book 2, Being a Jett Girl.

This is the first in a series, and held my interest from the very beginning. It is a beguiling mix of crazy, zany and ultra-hot. I felt like suggesting that communication might solve a whole lot of the issues arising, but when I get involved enough to make suggestions then I know I am hooked! It is well written, and there is enough detail to be good, but not too much to be distracting.

Luckily I had book two on my Kindle, so I didn't need to worry about a cliffhanger ...

Can two damaged souls heal one another? They may have a pretty good shot at it if they’re in the Lafayette Club. Jett Colby established the Lafayette Club to help rescue girls who have hit rock bottom and found themselves on the ugly side of the beautiful city of New Orleans. The girls are trained in the art of burlesque, given a safe place to live and earn an honest living, fed, clothed, and given an education so that when they choose to leave they are able to support themselves. Each girl is handpicked by Jett and he always gets what he wants … until Goldie.

I loved Goldie’s character – she’s sassy, feisty, funny, and feels deeply. She’s had a tough life and makes no excuses for what she does. She might not be proud of the path her life has taken, but she’s doing the best she can. Despite how badly she wants to make a change, she’s a firm believer that “if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is” and thus ignores the first and second invites to become a Jett Girl. After the third invite, she’s convinced that she made the right decision because the stalker behavior is creeping her out (those were some amusing monologues and dialogues). But when Goldie finds out that her life really could get worse, she gives in and agrees to embark upon Becoming a Jett Girl.

Among the many things I enjoyed about this book were the numerous relationships that Goldie developed with the other inhabitants of the Lafayette Club. Despite the fact that she was not the only Jett Girl having sex with Jett, the relationships with the other girls were warm and supportive; I really expected a conflict between her and Pepper and was pleasantly surprised when Ms. Quinn didn’t go there. While there was some sexual tension between her and Kace, I liked the way in which their relationship changed over the course of the novel. But, as expected, it is her relationship with Jett that made the book. In a word, their relationship is passionate. They can push one another’s buttons so thoroughly that I didn’t always know who to root for. Their relationship had moments that were so sweet, moments that were unbelievably hot, and moments that were thoroughly devastating. As if all that were not enough to make this a great read, Ms. Quinn adds a bit intrigue and a whole lotta conflict between Jett and his father that is just getting started. Becoming a Jett Girl has the Bourbon series off to an excellent start and I am thrilled that I get to find out how life at the Lafayette Club continues to play out in Being a Jett Girl.

When I was in high school I occasionally read books but was consumed by other teenage things so I didn't take the time to appreciate a good book on a cloudy day, wrapped up in a blanket on the couch. It wasn't until I received a Kindle for Christmas one year that my world completely flipped upside down. When looking for books I came across the Contemporary Romance genre and was sold and I haven't turned back since.

You can either find my head buried in my Kindle, listening to inspiring heart ripping music or typing away on the computer twisting and turning the lives of my characters while driving my readers crazy with anticipation.

I currently reside in beautiful Colorado Springs where the sun is always shining and there is a trail waiting to be hiked on every corner. I share a lovely and warm home with the love of my life and my five, four-legged.
